An outdoor activity
An outdoor activity was conducted on Friday (7.12.18) for our tiny tots. They were taken to Bal Bhawan . The kids enjoyed doing things on their own. There were various recreational things. It was a practical based learning activity for them. The aim was to motivate the students to learn in an enjoyable manner & it was fulfilled. This activity helped the students to enhance their creative potential.

Children's Day Celebration
Children's day was celebrated on 14 Nov, 2018 in the school. A Fete was organised in the school premises. Various stalls of eatables and games were put up by the students. There were stalls of Pizza, Pani Puri, Bhelpuri and Chole Kulche etc. The atmosphere was full of fun & frolic. The games’ stalls were also very interesting. Students and teachers enjoyed the Fete a lot. The stalls were well presented. It was a wonderful day. Really enthusiastic and enjoyable experience for both students and teachers.

Zonal Primary Athletic Meet
The students of the school participated in the Zonal Primary Athletic Meet on October 30, 2018. There were several sports events such as hop race, 50 metres race, 100 metres race, shuttle race, sack race etc. The meet witnessed the zestful performance by the students of our school . The great interest was observed among the students. Sports is all about playing and competing. The students prepared a lot and was encouraged by the teachers. The meet was marked by an unending zeal and sporting fervour everyone was reverberated by the sounds of cheerfulness as the students of the school won medal and certificates. Bhavya Sharma, Student of Class III got 3rd Position in 100 meter race got Bronze Medal at zonal primary athletic meet Boys on 29-10-2018. Ipshika Khaya, Student of class III A won Silver Medal III position in 100 meter race at zonal primary athletic meet girls on 29-10-2018.

SCIENCE EXHIBITION
After being selected at zonal level in science exhibition our school participated at district level & got certificates Organic farming has drawn attention of everyday due to its unique feature so our school represented the system of organic agriculture at district level organic farming is the farming of livestock or vegetables production using natural sources and nutrients. These is no use of artificial fertilizers, pesticides and genetically modified organisms. Organic farming is an interested farming system that strives for sustainability. The enhancement of soil fertility synthetic pesticides and fertilizers. The students represented following feature in the model a) Sunlight based watering system to water the farm. b) Motor sensor based burglar alarm to guard the cattle. c) Vermiform composting. d) A milk processing unit The students and teachers who participated in the exhibition got the certificates at District level for participating in the science exhibition 2018 held at RPVV Nandnagri School Delhi from 29-10-2018 to 31-10-2018. Bhumika Sharma and Urvi Bhasker of class VIII B got the certificates.

DUSSEHRA CELEBRATIONS
Festival of Dussehra was celebrated in the school on 16 oct,2018 with great pomp and show. Ramleela was staged by the students of the school. The students of the school presented exuberant performances related to the occasion. This festival teaches us the victory of good over evil. The occasion was graced by the presence of the Head mistress of the school, Madhu Arora. Manager of the school, Mr Dishant Arora appreciated the efforts of the students.

Agriculture and Organic Farming
It gives us immense pleasure to announce that, our School participated in Zonal Science Exhibition, Zone-III held on September 10, 2018 and September 11, 2018. The students displayed the exhibit Agriculture & Organic Farming successfully during zonal Science Exhibition 2018. The exhibit has been selected for centre level Science Exhibition 2018. St Andrews Scots School participated in the middle junior category. Arushi Pruthi, Urvi Bhaskar, Rishika of VIII-B participated in the event under the guidance of Mrs. Monica Kaushal.The working model showed various aspects of irrigation, composting, theft alert alarm and solar panel. It was enriching experience where the students showcased their creativity and innovative designs.

Visit to Nehru Planetarium
The school organized a trip to Nehru Planetarium for the students of classes VI & VII on August 25, 2018. The Nehru Planetarium in New Delhi is situated on the grounds of Teen Murti Bhawan officially known as “ Nehru memorial Museum and library”, earlier the official residence at India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and now a museum in his memory. The students learnt about the working of our solar system through the movie. They saw the sky theatre which is a done shaped theatre. They got information about constellations and planets through cartoons, paintings, computer animation and special effects. They also visited the museum where they learnt about the life of pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. It was a great time for the children where they had a lot of fun and learnt new things.

Raksha Bandhan Celebration
Andrews celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan on 24 August, 2018 with a great zeal and zest. It is celebrated in the holy month of shravan to cherish the bond of brothers and sisters. The teachers told the students about the significance of the festival. Girls tied rakhi on the wrist of boys. Girls after tying rakhi offered sweets to boys and boys gave gifts in return. Students of classes Nursery and Prep were in colourful dresses and they were very excited. The decoration and ambience of all classes reflected the festive mood. Students were filly charged, enthusiastic and full of zeal. The atmosphere was filled with a lot of fun, energy and excitement.

Friday Activity
Co- Curricular activities are part of academics and make teaching and learning experience exciting for both students and teachers, A plethora of activities was conducted on 24 Aug, 2018 (Friday) in which English Conversation, Singing , Karate, Art & Craft, Chess, carom board, Social issues, 3D Printing & Robotics, Dance etc were offered. The students participated in all the club activities with lots of excitement and gaiety. These activities will help the students develop qualities like leadership, tear integrity and coordination.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
Independence day is celebrated every year on 15th August as it is a red letter day in the history of India. Independence Day is very important for all the Indians as we got freedom from British rule on this day. We also made a lot of preparation for this day. The students marched to the school ground. The manager of the school Mr. Dishant Arora hoisted the National flag. All the students and teachers saluted the flag. National anthem was sung. The students presented a group dance full at patriotic fervour. The martyrs and patriots were remembered for their sacrifices. The students pledged to maintain the dignity of the precious freedom.

Teej was celebrated in junior wing with great joy on 13.08.18. The students enjoyed to their fullest. The students as well as teachers were in green outfit. All of them brought sweets from home. The students applied Mehandi and danced with a great enthusiasm the class.

Science and Social Science Exhibition was held in the School on 28 July, 2018. The students made beautiful models of windmill, volcano, historical monuments, cell, electrical circuits, Digestive system, etc. They also made working models and demonstrated working of the models very nicely. Art with purpose 2018, the art competition was organized by Faber- castell NDTV on 13/07/18 (Friday) The topic was to promote the young generation to become soldiers and guard the country. Red Day Celebration (Nursery & prep)
Red Day was celebrated in the Junior wing on 20th April2018. The tiny-tots were dressed in red- outfits and they brought red coloured snacks in their tiffin. They ate red colour fruits like apples and strawberries.With this activity they came to know about red colour. The teenie weenies were looking very bright in red colour. They felt the enthusiasm of red colour whole day as everything was red in their surroundings.

On the occasion of Baisakhi
On the occasion of Baisakhi, the tiny tots were taken to Gurudwara. They covered their heads and the visit aimed at making the students understand the importance at community eating. The students started with paying reverence to the holy book of the sikhs ‘The Guru Granth Sahib ’All the children had Prasad together. It was fascinating for the kids to know about the Gurudwara and sikh culture.

5th south Asian Games-2018
Scotians have always been the brightest students. Net just in academics, they have always performed well in co- curricular activities & sports also. The students of St Andrews Scots School jagat puri took part in the 5th south Asian Games-2018 organised by district sports committee Kanchampur, Nepal on 27 jan,2018 and Feb,2018 and won medals again. Uday Kishore class V B won Gold medal. Pushkar Ahuja class V A bagged silver medal. Ashika Bhati class VIII C won Bronze medal. We would like to congratulate our scotians for getting such prestigious medals. We wish to appreciate the sincerity. Dedication and scotians to perform with excellence. They all have proven their abilities and talents. Heartfelt apperciation & keep up the spirits. We also congratulate our Judo Coach Mr. Nitin Sharma. This would not have been possible without his efforts and training.

In the wake of the worst outbreak of Dengue and Chikungunya ; Parents and children are advised to take the following preventive measures- a) Cover water containers. b) Do not let water collect around your house. c) Use mosquito coils and repellents. d) Eliminate mosquito breeding places. e) Remove rubbish and maintain cleanliness. f) Wear full sleeve clothes and long dresses to cover the limbs. g) Do not let water tanks overflow.
